That last post was symptomatic of the inevitable encounter with the Levinasian il y a that I experience after exceptionally long bouts with wakefulness.  I think my strangely anamnetic (Platonic sense, not the liturgical sense, though that would be an interesting thread to pull) reading is to blame.
