I mean the guy is from AEI…but it’s interesting. Profit incentive is how almost all important innovation is being done in science now. Just look at NASA and the ESA - they have to offer money to get private companies to do the outside-of-the-box innovation for them.

And he’s a conservative! I like David Brooks. He is very fair-minded and unbiased, and this trend is ridiculous but undeniable. It’s not ubiquitous, but it’s prevalent enough to be worrisome. When did an education become undesirable?
I am feeling very Emily Dickinson no. 6 (by the Franklin order, which is the only true chronological order), first quatrain. With luck I will not progress to 2nd quatrain. I would give you the first line to look up, but it’s emo. I will say that it is from 1858 and was one of the foci of my big American poetry paper last year. It’s a good one. It has stuck with me for a while.
